Versus Arthritis on behalf of Sport England is pleased to offer an Award of £4,680.00 (the “Award”) to FND Hope UK for the period 01st October 2021 – 31st March 2022.
The Award is granted to assist FND Hope UK to deliver the Online movement classes for people with Functional Neurological Disorder project to help reduce the negative impact of COVID19 and the widening of the inequalities in sport and physical activity between 01st October 2021 and 31st March 2022.
FND Hope UK began delivering online movement classes in 2021, offered in collaboration with Synergy Dance® Outreach. Synergy Dance® Outreach, is a registered charity that provides fitness classes for children, teens and adults as well as Special Educational Needs and Disability. Synergy Dance® Outreach promotes lifelong participation in dance and fitness for all backgrounds, levels of fitness, and ability.
FND Hope UK online movement classes provide seated yoga & pilates and chair-based dance instruction that enhances flexibility, increases muscle strength and/or spatial awareness, bolsters immune system response, and improves overall well-being. All classes are suitable for all abilities and the group setting connects participants and reduces isolation. Additionally, the stress-relieving yoga programme helps increase participants’ confidence and enrich their everyday lives.
FND Hope UK are really pleased to have secured a Grant to help us continue to offer our online Yoga, Pilates and Dance Sessions, if you have not signed up to our weekly movements classes, why not give them a go and register here.
Cindy (Chair for FND Hope UK) said ‘Movement and sport should be all inclusive and this is. Our online movement courses for yoga, pilates and dance have been very popular, it’s a great way for the charity to reach out and help and allows people to try something new and focus on something positive for a little while. I have personally done chair yoga and loved it, great teachers too. If you haven’t tried it yet why not have a go, it’s on line and you can even turn your camera off if you want to.
